BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ohio track and field team finished seventh at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Carime Reinhart and Bahiyjaui Allen each placed for the second time in action on Saturday.

Akron took first place with 208.5 team points, more than 55 points better than Western Michigan in second place with 153 team points. Miami took third with 73.5 points, Kent State finished just behind in fourth with 73 points, Central Michigan placed fifth with 64 points and Buffalo finished in front of Ohio in sixth place with 50.5 team points.

Behind the Bobcats were Toledo in eighth (35.5), Eastern Michigan and Ball State tied for ninth (35), the host Bowling Green Falcons in 11th (29) and Northern Illinois in 12th (18).

Reinhart (Bascom, Ohio) placed third in the 10,000 meters on the first day of competition and took fourth on Saturday in the 5,000 meters. The senior crossed the finish line in 17:45.49.

Allen (Sylvania, Ohio) broke her own record in the shot put on Friday in taking second place and the sophomore earned a fifth place finish in the discus on Saturday, with her throw coming in at 159 feet, seven inches.

Emily Amendola (Beach City, Ohio) also placed in two events for the Bobcats at the MAC Championships, taking eighth in the shot put on Friday and fifth in the hammer throw on Thursday.

Jessie Tanner (Newark, Ohio) earned two place finishes as well, taking fifth in the javelin and seventh in the hammer throw, both on Thursday, day one of the championships.

Together, the foursome of Allen, Amendola, Tanner and Reinhart combined to score 34 of Ohio's 43 team points.

The Bobcats' seventh place finish improves upon their 10th place showing at the 2008 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Eastern Michigan.

Akron won the indoor title for the fourth straight time and added its fourth straight outdoor title on Saturday.

Akron narrowly edged Eastern Michigan on the men's side of competition, with the Zips' 183 team points to the Eagles 182. Akron took second last season by the same one-point margin.
