ATHENS, Ohio - Three Bobcats were named to the Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-MAC Academic Team, the league announced Tuesday night. The trio of selections was the second most from any one school in the conference.

Carime Reinhart (Bascom, Ohio) was named to the team for the third consecutive season, the longest streak of any individual honored this year. Jessie Tanner (Newark, Ohio) was also named along with fellow thrower Emily Amendola (Beach City, Ohio), who recently finished her season at the NCAA Mideast Regionals after qualifying in both the shot put and hammer throw.

Reinhart never finished out of the top nine in any race she competed in during the 2008 outdoor season. The senior racked up two first-place finishes and recorded Bobcat season-best times in all four events she raced - the 800 meters, 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters. The senior placed in both the 5k and 10k at the MAC Outdoor Championships, taking fourth and third, respectively.

She currently sports a 3.98 GPA in speech pathology and was also named to the 2008 Indoor All-MAC Academic Team.

Tanner tallied 21 top-10 finishes this season while competing in the shot put, discus, hammer and javelin - earning first place on two occasions. She was Ohio's best competitor in the javlin, recording the teams' three best marks on the season. The junior placed in both the javlin (fifth) and hammer (seventh) at the MAC Outdoor Championships.

She holds a 3.98 GPA in accounting and was named to the Indoor All-MAC Academic Team alongside Reinhart.

Amendola broke Ohio's all-time program record in the hammer throw this season with a heave of 180 feet, seven inches at the Ohio Open on May 10. She tallied a whopping 21 top-10 finishes on the year while competing in the shot put, hammer throw and discus. The sophomore placed fifth in the hammer throw and eighth in the shot put at the 2008 Outdoor MAC Championships and qualified for regionals in both events as well.

She currently holds a 3.61 GPA in exercise physiology.

A total of 23 student-athletes were named to the MAC All-Academic Team. Akron led all schools with four selections while Ohio tied for second with Ball State, Buffalo and Central Michigan with each school receiving three nominations.

Reinhart's and Tanner's 3.98 GPAs were the highest of all the Academic All-MAC Team selections.
